The FILM IS NOT DEAD started in Mar 2008 in Laie HI. It spanned the globe covering 5 continents with almost 800 attendees by the time it ended in person in 2015 in Perth, Austrailia. It then became FIND in a BOX where another 700 attendees could attend and learn from the comfort of their own home/bed/couch. FILM IS NOT DEAD aka "FIND" is coming back and in it's best form and including an aspect that was missing, having it at theFINDlab. 3 full days of shooting film and getting a chance to get your hands wet by developing and scanning your own shot film at theFINDlab.
Over the 3 days we will cover all things film discussing: film stocks and their best applications, exposures and how to get the most out of your chosen film stock, what to avoid in terms of lighting/color/pushability/long-exposures/reciprocity, cameras and finding what works best for your vision (attendees will have access to all the cameras at theFINDlab), how to develop and push color film, how to scan said film along with an in depth look under the hood of Fuji Frontier SP3000's and Noritsu HS1800's. We will extensively cover film & flash and how to shoot in any lighting situation regardless of time of day or lack of epic locations. Above & beyond film we will also discuss the business of shooting film, posing and how to utilize your own personality to create images that amplify YOUR voice, the power of personal projects, pajama profits & how your online proofing site is hindering you from receiving thousands in online print orders. Each day we will go on an excursion to shoot & you will have the opportunity to go to theFINDlab, to develop & scan your shot film.
